Webmuseu Noisetupi
A free, open WebXR virtual museum made in Santo André
Enter Webmuseu →Context
Webmuseu Noisetupi is a virtual-reality digital environment accessible from computers, phones and VR headsets. Built with WebXR on the A-Frame framework, it runs directly in the browser with no installation.
In the first phase, works by the Noisetupi collective and other Santo André artists were recreated virtually and made freely available to the public with funding from the Aldir Blanc Law.
Challenge
Create a democratic gallery with international reach for local production, encouraging work by ethnic groups and peripheral communities, while training new creators in web-based VR.
Solution
Navigable three-dimensional rooms with a virtual joystick, mirrors, particle systems and video, GIF and 3D works. The project included an open 12-hour workshop for 30 participants, half reserved for the local community, with classes recorded and published on YouTube. Participants could also host their own work in the gallery.
Technologies
The VR rooms use A-Frame libraries loaded from the web, so an internet connection is required to visit them.
